Novel Energy Solutions installs Community Solar Gardens for businesses ranging from family farms to entities with large rooftops or unused land. A CSG is a centralized solar project, connected to the energy grid that provides energy to multiple subscribers. We build these CSGs projects using our in-house team of trained and certified crew members. NES is looking for a dedicated, ambitious, and experienced Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate all activities pertaining to the construction of our CSG projects.

What you’ll do:

  • Organize, plan, direct, coordinate and report onsite construction activities

  • Lead the construction effort by estimating, management and scheduling 

  • Manage all sub-contractors and crew members for timely completion and quality; ensure each project is built according to plans, specifications, schedule and budget

  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to fall within industry market pricing

  • Develop and maintain quality relationships with utility companies and provide timely communication regarding schedule, inspections, energization and interconnections

  • Read, interpret and understand all project documentation such as insurance, permitting, and project scheduling  

  • Document delays and changes

  • Maintain and monitor quality standards

  • Report to the NES management team all progress, new issues, resolutions, budget and schedule compliance on a consistent basis

  • Act as a troubleshooter on current projects 

  • Assure compliance with NES safety policies, OSHA and/or MSHA safety standards

  • Seek cost savings through vendor negotiations, market analysis, and eliminating waste

  • Maintain a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and problem-solving


Our Ideal Candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field

  • Two years minimum of supervisory experience in construction and/or renewable energy

  • Experience working on solar construction

  • Experience dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work 

  • Proficiency with reading blueprints, specs, contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record


Bonus Points!

  • OSHA 30 certification 

  • Proficiency with Gantt charts and/or Smartsheets

  • Experience with Viewpoint by Vista software

  • PMP Certification
