The Construction Accounting Manager will oversee the financial performance of the company’s construction business. This role will work closely to provide the construction team with the appropriate tools for monitoring labor and cost to manage jobs efficiently and maximize profitability and will be responsible for accounting of the company’s construction business.
What you’ll do:

Own the monthly and year-end financial statements for Novel’s construction entities

Manage the monthly and yearly close process for the accurate presentation of jobs in accordance with GAAP.

Ensure project managers have timely reporting and insights necessary to understand drivers of job profitability

Collaborate with construction project managers to forecast monthly revenue, costs, and cash flows
-
Plan and implement ERP system improvements, primarily in the procurement, payables, and job cost functions
-
Assist the construction department with equipment financing needs, and the accounting for construction equipment
-
Manage accounts payables and vendor relationships with key construction suppliers
-
Establish systems and processes to allow for the company’s continued growth while maintaining efficiency
Our Ideal Candidate has:
-
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
-
Five or more years of construction industry and job cost experience
-
Eight or more years of total accounting and finance experience
-
At least one to two years of experience managing a team
-
Vista by Viewpoint software experience
-
Proven knowledge of GAAP
-
Ability to lead, influence, and motivate others
-
Ability to communicate professionally in a verbal or written manner
-
Attention to detail and accuracy
-
Proven experience driving process improvements
